In undertaking its work, the Labour Market Information and Statistics (LMIS) directorate has worked tirelessly over the financial year 2019/20 to identify and compile relevant information that will inform policy makers and other stakeholders on the analysis of the South African economy and labour market performance for the development of evidence-based decision. In this regards, the efforts made by LMIS officials in putting this information together are acknowledged. Our aspiration is to show extensively the gaps  regarding the changes that the South African labour market is facing and to provide in particular to the senior managers in the Department with some critical up to date information for possible labour policy interventions. This task has been achieved with the available data into our disposal
